Odyssey
Talk Series
Odyssey, the American Jewish
Committee's programming for
Jewish singles, will continue its
"Escape the Cold" series with
the second of four programs. "Is
it always dynamite? A look at
Labor and Management Rela-
tions" is the title of the discus-
sion scheduled for 7:30 p.m.,
Wednesday, Dec. 20, at the Max
M.Fisher Building.
Following the evening's dis-
cussion, refreshments and so-
cializing will be offered. There
is a charge of $5 per person. The
remaining two programs for the
singles series include a "Shah-
bos for the Novice" dinner on
Friday, Jan. 12, and an evening
learning about hunger in our
community through a "Tu
B'Shevat Seder for the Hungry,"
Monday, Feb. 4.

Project Appoints
Ms. Freedman
Marion Freedman has been ap-
pointed executive director of the
Neighborhood Project upon the
retirement of Rhoda Raderman.
Prior to accepting the posi-
tion, Mrs. Freedman was the
agency's assistant director. She
holds a master's degree in social
work, and previously served as
an administrative intern at Fed-
eration. Earlier in her career,
she taught Spanish and French
in the Detroit Public Schools.
As a volunteer, she serves as
treasurer of Temple Beth El.
She also was a board member of
the PTO Council of Bloomfield
Hills Schools, co-president of the
West Hills Middle School PTO
and membership vice-president
of the Sinai Hospital Guild.
She will be assisted by Amy
Neistein. As program assistant,
Mrs. Neistein will be responsi-
ble for interviewing applicants
for the loan program and main-
taining project records and sta-
tistics. She also will be involved
in community outreach activi-
ties.
The Neighborhood Project, a
program of the Jewish Federa-
tion of Metropolitan Detroit, of-
fers no-interest loans to
members of the Jewish com-
munity purchasing homes in
Southfield and Oak Park.
