Statement of Unity

The Jewish Community of Detroit is unified in our support of the
State of Israel. We condemn the violence that has brought tragedy
to nal Yisrael, and we support efforts to secure a lasting and
genuine peace for the people of Israel.

Whatever their differences, all members of our diverse community
are obligated to reduce the level of strident rhetoric against any
group among us, while increasing the level of tolerance toward those
with whom we disagree.

All of us must search our souls, to eliminate stereotyping and to
reach out in friendship, understanding and respect for our fellow
Jews.

The Jewish People has survived because of fundamental Jewish values.
By upholding these values, we will assure the Jewish future for
generations to come.
