March Event
For Women

The Detroit Business and Pro-
fessional/Pisgah Chapter, Jew-
ish Women International,
formerly B'nai B'rith Women,
will hold its general meeting on
Sunday, Dec. 10, at 12:30 p.m. at
the Farmington Hills Commu-
nity Library, 32737 W. 12 Mile
Rd. between Orchard Lake and
Farmington Roads.
There will be a Chanukah cel-
ebration complete with food, can-
dlelighting and a social
afternoon. Guests are welcome.

Women of the community are in-
vited to an informational coffee
kickoff to discuss the upcoming
Jewish Federation Women's Divi-
sion Choices program at 9:30 a.m.
Dec. 12, at Temple Shir Shalom.
Choices, a community event
set for March 14 at Adat Shalom
Synagogue, addresses issues of
family, friendship and Jewish
identity as it relates to a woman's
life.
A minimum gift to the 1996
Allied Jewish Campaign is re-
quired for attendance at the
March 14 event.

Mitzvah Hosts
Potluck Party

The Mitzvah group of Hadassah
will host its annual Potluck
Chanukah Party at the Hadas-
sah House, 5030 Orchard Lake
Road, on Dec. 17, from 11 a.m. to
1 p.m.
A potluck lunch and kiddie
bongo will be the highlights.
Each family should bring a sal-
ad or dessert of choice. The rest
of the meal will be provided. Re-

Views Given

The Bloomfield Hills group of
Hadassah will hold a meeting on
Tuesday, Dec. 12, at Hadassah

Assistant Secretary of Labor for
Employment and Training, will
speak on "Inside Washington."
Luncheon will be served and

Temple Israel Sisterhood will
host "Cooking with Sweet Lor-
raine's," a demonstration of culi-
nary delight on Monday, Dec.
11, at noon.
Luncheon is included. $6 for
sisterhood members; $8 for non-

Reservations are being accepted
for the United Jewish Appeal's
Young Leadership Cabinet trip
to Washington, D.C., March 17-
19, 1996.
Co-sponsored by the Jewish
Federation of Metropolitan De-
troit, the three-day program will
bring participants together with
presidential candidates and top
Washington experts, Middle
East observers and Israeli offi-
cials who will share their insights
on both domestic and foreign is-
sues.
Personal appointments on
Capitol Hill with members of the
Senate and House of Represen-
tatives also are on the agenda.
All programming, meals and
airline tickets are included in the
$375-per-person trip fee. A $100
scholarship is available through
the Jewish Federation.
Those interested will also have
the option to sign up for a March
19-24 extension to Jerusalem
where individuals will meet with
members of the Knesset and help
celebrate the 3,000th anniver-
sary of King David's Jerusalem
as the capital of the Jewish peo-
ple. A $500 deposit for that por-
tion of the trip is required by Feb.
