opening night of the Jewish En-
semble Theatre's performance of
The Diary of Anne Frank. Jack
Wolfe, Rob Silverstein and
Andy Jacob of World Wide Fi-
nancial greeted the guests along
with Rick Rogow of Big Dad-
dy's.
Edith Sleutelberg was hon-
ored before the performance. She
told of her own experience during
the Holocaust. She was hidden in
the countryside near Amsterdam.
Ms. Sleutelberg is the mother of
Rabbi Arnie Sleutelberg of
Congregation Shir Tikvah Mar-
ci Benson, Bluma Siegal and
Evelyn Orbach were among the
crowd at the event. Performances
of The Diary of Anne Frank run
through Dec. 17.

When Boston tourist Amy
Margolis Silberman was killed
by a stray bullet last New Year's
Eve in New Orleans, her family's
life was changed forever. As her
aunt and uncle, Cantor Norman
and Eunice Rose of Southfield
are part of the mourning family.
Through the efforts of Amy's
cousin, Andy Fox, and Gil
Helmick, the New Year Coalition
was formed. The purpose of the
New Year Coalition is to prevent
another tragedy.
On Dec. 11, the city of New Or-
leans is dedicating a monument
to Amy on the spot where she was
killed. Amy's relatives from all
over the country are going to this
event, including her mother, Eu-
dice Bernstein; brother, An-
drew Silberman; cousin, Heidi M.
Rose; and aunt, Eunice Rose.
