B'nai B'rith is seeking male bas-
ketball players for its 21st sea-
son, which will begin in January.
The teams play on a full court
at Southfield-Lathrop High
School. Last year, there were 300
participants in the league. B'nai
B'rith membership is a require-
ment.
A meeting of team represen-
tatives and interested individu-
als will be held 6:30 p.m. Monday,
Dec. 11, at the Fleischman Resi-
dence multi-purpose room, 6710
W. Maple Rd., west of the Maple-
Drake Jewish Community Cen-
ter.

Youth Events

Michigan Region B'nai B'rith
Youth Organization will hold its
Regional Convention Sunday,
Dec. 24 - Thursday, Dec. 28, with
most events being held at the
West Bloomfield Jewish Com-
munity Center. The theme this
year is "Our Time is Now." Co-
ordinators for this convention are
Julie Strachan of Ahava BBG and
Corey Slutsky of Strauss AZA.
Metropolitan Detroit Teen
Connection will have an evening
at U.S. Blades on Sunday, Dec.
10, 6-9 p.m. There will be a
charge for the event. The evening
will include admission and rental
of protective gear and skates. All
7th and 8th graders are invited
to be first time guests at the

AZA is starting to register
teams for the 1996 AZA Basket-
ball League. The league will be-
gin on Sunday, Jan. 14; games
will be played each Sunday, 3:30-
6:30 p.m., at the Maple-Drake
JCC. League coordinator is Dan-
ny Krochmal of Kishon AZA.
Chapters may register as many
teams as they choose with 10-12
members on each team. All team
members must be nationally reg-
istered members of AZA. Indi-
vidual applications have been
sent to each AZA member; addi-
tional forms may be obtained
from chapter presidents or the
BBYO Chapter Service Center.

An Israeli Oneg Shabbat will be
held Friday, Dec. 8, at 8 p.m. at
Hillel. It will feature Israeli del-
icacies as well as a discussion of
the current political situation in
Israel. Oneg will follow dinner.

10 p.m. at Hillel, oin Tom Starks
for Israeli dancing. $2.50.
