Youth Award Essay Contest The League of Jewish Women's Organizations has applications available for its 51st annual youth awards for high school stu- dents. The ceremony will be held on Sunday, April 28, at Temple Israel. To qualify for the annual youth award of $500, the appli- cant must be a high school senior with at least a 3.0 grade point av- erage, have a formal Jewish ed- ucation, be actively involved in the community and submit a one-page typed essay on the sub- ject: As future leaders of our country, discuss the separation of church and state as it pertains to the issue of prayer in the school. As you write your re- sponse, take the perspective from both an American and a Jewish point of view. Once qualified, an applicant will be interviewed by a panel of judges.
