Havdalah Event

The Cultural Commission of
Congregation Beth Achim will
sponsor a havdalah in the home
program on Saturday, Dec. 2, at
7 p.m. in the homes of congre-
gation members and individuals.
The evening will begin with a
Havdalah service followed by
light refreshments and various
topics including astronomy, stor-
eis, games, singing. Each fami-
ly will receive a Havdalah kit and
information to take home. The
program is co-sponsored by
JEFF.
There is no charge for the pro-
gram but reservations are re-
quired. For information, contact

Memory Books

Members and friends of Congre-
gation Beth Achim are invited to
participate in a memorial project
in memory of Yitzhak Rabin.
Three memorial books have
been created in which individu-
als may record their thoughts. In
one book, members and friends
are requested to sign their names
to convey their condolences to the
family of Yitzhak Rabin and to
the citizens of Israel. In the sec-
ond book, individuals may record
their thoughts of what was the
most memorable aspect or action
during the funeral and period of
shiva of Yitzhak Rabin. In the
third book, individuals may re-
member the life of Yitzhak
Rabin.

Informal Night
With The Rabbi

Adat Shalom Synagogue has
planned Kiddush Kups and Kof-
fee, an informal evening at the
home of Rabbi Efry Spectre 8
p.m. on Saturday night, Dec. 2.
Participants will hear from the
rabbi about his collection of
Judaic ritual objects.
The evening will begin with
wine and cheese. Following
Rabbi Spectre's presentation, cof-
fee and dessert will be served.
The evening is co-sponsored by
the Synagogue's Adult Study
Commission and Adat Shalom
affiliates.
There is no charge, but anyone
planning to attend should reg-
ister for the event by Nov. 27, by
calling Charlotte Fiszbein, 851-
5100.

Publicity Deadlines

The normal deadline for local news and
publicity items is noon Thursday, eight
days prior to issue date. The deadline
for birth announcements is 10 a.m.
Monday, four days prior to issue date;
out-of-town obituaries, 10 a.m. Tues-
day, three days prior to issue date.
