Learning Minyan
For Educators

B'nai David
Men Meet

On Wednesday, Nov. 29, the
Agency for Jewish Education will
sponsor the first Netivot Limud
— Pathways of Learning Work-
shops and Jewish Educators
Learning Minyan for this school
year. The program will be held at
Adat Shalom Synagogue from
6:15-9:15 p.m.
This evening will begin with
an optional light, kosher dinner
at 6:15 p.m. The Learning
Minyan will start at 6:30 p.m.
This Learning Minyan will fea-
ture Rabbi Daniel Nevins from
Adat Shalom Synagogue, who
will explore "Adon Olam" with
the participants.
All Learning Minyan sessions
will be led by Elissa Berg, educa-
tion director at Temple Kol Ami,
with music by Raquel P. Gershon,
director of the AJE's Teachers Re-
source Center.
Following at 7:15 p.m., educa-
tors will have the opportunity to
participate in one of three work-
shops designed to develop knowl-
edge and skills for teaching
tefillah, Hebrew and Judaica.
"Torah in Motion" will introduce
teachers to movement activities
which they can use to teach
Torah. "Parent Communication:
Creating a Bridge for Learning
and Support" will offer a variety
of strategies for engaging parents
in becoming active partners
in their child's learning through
positive communication tech-
niques.
The Jewish Educators Learn-
ing Minyan and Netivot Limud
Workshops are part of the AJE's
annual NIREVI Professional En-
richment Program for Jewish Ed-
ucators. Participants are asked
to pre-register with their school's
education director.
The Learning Minyan and
Workshops are free of charge.

The B'nai David Men's Club will
meet on Sunday, Dec. 3, at the

Lecture Series

A lecture series providing a basic
introduction to Jewish Philoso-
phy and observance is offered by
Chabad House of Eastern Michi-
gan. The lecturer is Rabbi Elim-
elech Silberberg of the West
Bloomfield Torah Center.

JFA Hosts
Chanukah Party

Jewish Federation Apartments,
Inc., will hold its Annual Chanu-
kah Party and Raffle on Sunday,
Dec. 3, from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. at Con-
gregation Beth Shalom.

to all JFA residents, $1 for JFA
sponsors, friends and the com-

include performances by the band

The Friends of the Huntington
Woods Library will hold a used
