exhibit including her late hus-
band's blood-soaked shirt and bro-
ken glasses? The piece showed
that Ono would continue to push
the boundaries of aesthetics and
taste. Of course, there's even more
proof of her artistic attempts to
"push boundaries" in her primal
-scream music.

While Ono
has shown a flare
for experimental art,
she usually
hits her mark with
the more romantic
pieces.

Perhaps Ono's "The Four
Winds" demonstrates that her
artistic yearnings can be soothed
best in romantic themes. "She
chose The Four Winds' and what
they bring to your life because you
can listen to the winds or choose
to ignore them," said DeCillis.
"The wind is just like life."
Now in her 60s, Ono's exhibit
at the Print Gallery shows the
same hopeful and youthful spir-
it as that behind the tribute to
John Lennon located in an area
of New York City's Central Park
called "Stawberry Fields." Per-
haps her greatest conceptual
work was requesting that anyone
could pay tribute to her slain hus-
band by planting an acorn in
Strawberry Fields and believing
in the transformative power of
love.
After all, what she's been say-
ing for years, the Japanese sages
have said for centuries; Plant
your love and let it grow.
