hire on, harvest moon, and at every other time during the Jewish
year.
Some 130 first-grade families at Temple Israel learned about
the moon and its role in Jewish holidays at a "Moon Mania"
event Oct. 29. In the temple's new media center, participants
made family calendars and used computers to find their Hebrew
birthdate and discover the phase of the moon.
Moon Mania buttons and light-switch plates that glow in the dark
also were manufactured.
Rabbi Paul Yedwab introduced the program, which was coordinated by
Julia Greenblatt of Jewish Experiences For Families and Temple Israel's
Debbie Mendelson.
