event that will be record-

ed as one of the great

traumas of our time.

Everywhere, Jews are

pondering the painful lay-

ers of meaning behind the

murder of Yitzhak Rabin

— by the hand of a Jew.

In our special report,

we chronicle the many

and varied reactions of

the Jewish and the non-

Jewish world. Our staff

has worked virtually non-

stop these past few days,

scouring the many com-

munities within our com-

munity. What they heard

— in Detroit, Washing-

ton, Jerusalem and else-

where — captures in a

remarkable fashion this

tragically historic event.
