The award was created through a partnership of Avi Chai, a New York-based private foundation which operates in the United States and Israel, and CJF to stimulate initiatives in the Federation system which strengthen Jewish commitment and can be emulated by other communities. This year's recipients, who will share a $36,000 grant from Avi Chai, will be honored and their programs highlighted at the CJF General Assembly in boston.
