Fazil Say
Born in Turkey in 1970, Mr.
Say studied piano and composi-
tion at the State Conservatory,
won a German Academic Schol-
arship for study in Dusseldorf's
Robert Schuman Institute where
he studied with David Levine,
and is currently on the Berlin
Conservatory faculty. He was
winner of the first European
Young Concert Auditions in
Leipzig, the 1995 New York
Young Concert Artists Interna-
tional Auditions and he has ap-
peared as soloist with the Berlin
Symphony and in Ankara and
Istanbul.

Anniversary

Plymouth community groups will
help the Plymouth Symphony
Orchestra celebrate its 50th sea-
son at its opening concert on Sun-
day, Oct. 15, at 3 p.m. in the
Plymouth Salem High School Au-
ditorium. The concert, titled,
"Come Home to Plymouth," will
be a replay of the very first per-
formance given by the Sympho-
ny in 1946.
Alumni of the Orchestra have
been invited to perform with the
orchestra for this occasion. Scott
Yoo, New York's award-wirming
violinist will be featured.
After the concert, an afterglow
will be held at John Cleveland's
Water Club Grill, 39500 E. Ann
Arbor Road in Plymouth at 3 p.m.
Tickets are $12 for adults, $10
for seniors; and $6 for children.
Afterglow tickets are $5. For in-
