According to mom Susan
Richards, Charles lost the
eight balloons while trying to
stuff them into the trunk.
The eight floated up into the
sky, accompanied by much
laughter from the Richards fam-
ily.
Imagine their amazement
the next morning to discover
the balloons stuck in the tree
next to their Farmington Hills
house, some five miles from the
takeoff point. "Several of our
friends said angels must have
brought them home," Mrs.
Richards said.
