A Little Princess. A timeless mas- terpiece for the whole family. Even if you don't have kids, rent it. You won't be disappointed. Grade: A Mimi Rogers as a woman who seemingly wants to get whacked, is slow and talky. But it is an angst-riddled mystery that nev- er stops intriguing us. Grade: B French Kiss. Meg Ryan is the jilt- ed fiance who travels to France to get back the guy who dumped her. Kevin Kline is the French- man who may or may not be what he seems. Director Lawrence Kasdan has made bet- ter movies in his sleep. Grade: C Village of the Damned. An entire town falls asleep for six hours, only to find that several of the women have been impregnated by a mysterious force. Guess who takes over the town. Mark Hamill, Michael Pare and Linda Kozlowski star in a film that is just too silly for its own good. Grade: C Tommy Boy. This is the latest movie to exploit "intellectually challenged" characters. Chris Farley and David Spade play pretty much their "Saturday Night Live" roles, but we don't mind because, frankly, they're pretty funny characters. Unfor- tunately, the screenplay isn't that funny. Grade: C Bulletproof Heart. This film, star- ring Anthony Lapaglia as a hit- man -without a conscience and While You Were Sleeping. Or, "What I Was Doing Toward the End of This Movie." Starring Sandra Bullock, Peter Gallagher and Bill Pullman, the situation in this movie could have been cleared up in about two seconds. Still, this was a big hit, and most audiences didn't seem to mind being manipulated like that, so what do I know? Grade: C A age 23, Israeli-born violinist Gil Shaham has been billed as having the virtuosity of Jascha Heifitz, the passion of Isaac Stern and the flair of Itzhak Perlman. "He is emerging as one of the finest musicians of his generation..."
