Temple Emanu-El offers various
worship services for children of
different ages. The first Friday of
every month during the school
year is family Shabbat. Special
abbreviated services for elemen-
tary school-aged children begin
at 7:30 p.m. The Temple Emanu-
El Youth Choir participates in
the monthly Family Shabbat
Services as well as family-ori-
ented festival services.
Children ages 2-7 attend
Young Family Shabbat Services
once per month. The next service
will be Saturday, Nov. 18, at
10:15 a.m. in the youth room.
Children with birthdays in No-
vember will receive a special gift.

Kol Ami Hosts
Rabbi Plaut

Rabbi W. Gunther Plaut will be
the Chvrat Torah scholar in res-
idence of Temkple Kol Ami on
Nov. 3 and 4.
Rabbi Plaut served as rabbi in
Chicago, in St. Paul and since
1961 has lived in Toronto. He
was senior rabbi of Holy Blossom
Temple in Toronto and now holds
the position of rabbi emeritus at
that congregation. In addition to
his well-known Torah commen-
tary, Rabbi Plaut has published
19 other books on subjects rang-
ing from theology to philosophy
and history, as well as three
works of fiction.
Rabbi Plaut will speak during
the Friday night service on Nov.
3, which begins at 8 p.m. His top-
ic is "Reading Torah with Three
Eyes." On Nov. 4, he will joint the
Chevrat Torah in study begin-
ning at 9:15 p.m.
