BERKLEY

Sila, 4033 W. 12 Mile, Berkley, 548-
3650. Two brothers, Mike and Al
Bsharah, have vaulted Silo into a top
family Italian restaurant and pizzeria. Its
pizza can be gotten square or round,
plus ribs, chicken, fish, salads, pasta and
other family delights that include the big
selling chicken parmigiana. Daily lunch
and dinner specials are 7 days a week
and private banquet space is available.

BIRMINGHAM

Alban's, 190 N. Hunter, Birmingham,
258-5788. An ageless favorite of Birm-
ingham, it is known for quality food and
fine service, offering a full menu and com-
plete wine and spirit selections. Alban's
caters to all dietary wishes including
Heart Smart! and is a complete party
outfitter for groups 200 to 500.

BLOOMFIELD HILLS

Beau Jack's, It's been open since
1976 and considered the favorite din-
ing and watering spot by many people.
They are considered like members d the
family by Gary and dad Jack Cochran,
who owned the Westerner Beef Buffet
on the same site before turning it into the
casual Beau Jack's where people know
each other and enjoy the comaraderie
of the restaurant's familytype operation.

Steve's Deli, 6646 Telegraph Rd. at
Maple, Bloomfield Plaza, 932-0800.
It's slogan "A little bit of New York right
here in Bloomfield Hills," is indicative of
the recently opened delicatessen that
has been receiving much applause. Fea-
tured are the old-time deli pastrami of
yesteryears, hot, steamy corned beef,
homemade pastries, Rominik brownies,
apple strudel and seven layer cake. Din-
ing in is amid a comfortable, intimate at-
mosphere, and corry-out is available
of any item on the menu. Great pride is
placed on Steve's tray catering.

Joe Muer's Seafood, 2000 Gra-
tiot, Detroit, 313-567-1088. A dining
tradition that is known nationwide as one
of America's premier seafood and fish
restaurants. Over 35 items from the wa-
ters are coupled with Black
Angus steaks that have made this a Heav-
en for lovers of fine cousine. Many at-
tempts have been made to copy some
of Joe Muer's dishes, but there's always
that secret ingredient for elegant taste
that no one has been able to capture
and are available only at this and Joe
Muer's Grill in Southfield.

Lelli's, 7618 Woodward Ave., De-
troit, 871-1590. Since 1939, Lelli's has
been a Detroit dining tradition, serving
Italian favorites at their best. As years be-
fore, it is again a 7-clay-a-week favorite,
open Sundays 12 noon to 8 p.m. Lelli's
has always been noted for its big
amounts of food, but it is with the times
in also offering a light side menu which
has become so very popular.

Red Devil, 15337 Fenkell, Detroit,
273-8844. One of Detroit's dining land-
marks, it has been serving Metro Detroit
for over 40 years, and is one of those
sleeper-type restaurants that give clot of
food for the money. And it's good. The
prime rib is huge and a varied menu in-
