The Beth Shalom Accessibility
Task Force will host an "Ability"
Shabbat on the morning of Oct.
28, for disabled persons in its
membership and in the Jewish
community. The program is part
of an intercongregational effort
to create awareness of such per-
sons' spiritual needs for mean-
ingful religious experiences
through active involvement. The
service will be held at Beth
Shalom.
The congregation hopes to
have in place an adjustable de-
vice in front of the bimah steps
which will allow persons unable
to negotiate the steps to receive
an aliyah or other Torah honor.
For information, call Shirlee
Harris, (810) 399-5599; or Susan
Ruttenberg, (810) 399-5437.

Cantor Klein

22, beginning with cocktails at
5:30 p.m.
The congregation will also pay
tribute to Cantor Klein during
the Shabbat morning service on
Saturday, Oct. 21. This coincides
with the Conservative Movement
scholar in residence Shabbat, fea-
turing Rabbi Reuven Hammer.
