For Teens

The Adat Shalom Sisterhood
will hold its annual Torah Fund
Brunch at 9:30 a.m., Monday,
Oct. 30, at the home of Sue
Ellen Kaufman. Rachel Pomer-
tantz Gershon, singer, song-
writer, Jewish educator and
Jewish Theological Seminary
graduate, will present musical
selections.
This event raises funds to en-
hance programming at the Sem-

An informational meeting about
Project Discovery, the semester-
in-Israel program for high school
students entering 10th and 11th
grade, will be held on Oct. 26, at
7:45 p.m. at the Max M. Fisher
Building in Bloomfield Hills.
The more than four-month
program is administered by the
Jewish Federation's Michigan/Is-
rael, students will study Ju-
daism, Hebrew, geography, and
the history of Israel.
The Oct. 26 meeting will pro-
vide interested students and
their parents with an opportu-
nity to talk about the trip with
past Project Discovery alumni
and have their questions an-
swered about scholarships and
fees.
Trip fees include tuition, room
and board, tours, seminars and
a comprehensive health/hospital
plan. Application deadline for
Project Discovery is Nov. 24.
