Seventeen metropolitan Detroit
women are taking apart in the
third Women's Hadracha, an Al-
lied Jewish Campaign program
to educate and develop new
Campaign and Detroit Jewish
community leaders.
Past Hadracha participant Mar-
ta Rosenthal is chairman; Paula
Glazier is associate chairman of
the third Women's Hadracha. Par-
ticipating women include: Dorothy
Barak,Susan Brown, Joan Cher-
noff-Epstein, Heidi Fischgrund,
Jan Frank, Sharon Gene, Illana
Greenberg, Susan Leemaster, Su-
san Milgrom, Debra Ribitwer, De-
bra Rosenberg, Janis Roszler,
Mindy Salzberg-Siegel, Cheryl
Schanes and Yael Weil.
The Hadracha program began
in 1980. Since then, there have
been 13 programs for both men
and women to learn about the
Jewish community in Detroit
and Israel. Each hadrach par-
ticipant tours local Jewish Fed-
eration agencies and the
Holocaust Memorial Center in
West Bloomfield, attends work-
shops on Jewish issues, learns
about the Campaign and spends
10 days in Israel.
This year's trip to Israel will
focus on women's issues and con-
cerns in Israel. The itinerary in-
cludes meetings with female
Israeli soldiers, discussions with
women in the Knesset and a vis-
it to an Israeli women's shelter.
Participants also will meet with
political leaders in the Jewish
Federation's Partnership 2000
region and members of the Israel
Women's Network.
Following the group's return
from Israel, they will meet with
Jewish aafederation leadership
to discuss their involvement in
the Jewish community and the
Allied Jewish Campaign.

Na'amat Plans
Donor Day

Na'amat USA, Greater Detroit
Council will take reservations for
its Donor Day at the Council of-
fice, 967-4750.
The Donor Day will highlight "A
Musical Interlude," a trio of re-
cently arrived Russian emigres,
who will present a program in
Russian, Yiddish, Hebrew, Italian
and English, at the morning ses-
sion beginning at 11 a.m. After
lunch, the keynote speaker will be
Joe Ducey, TV Channel 7 reporter
and Mission II participant.
There is a charge and reser-
vations must be made with the
Council office.The events will be
held at Temple Ernanu-El.
