Michigan Branch - Women's
League for Conservative Ju-
daism will hold its Women of
Achievement luncheon at Adat
Shalom Synagogue.
The guest speaker will be
Rabbi Reuven Hamer of Israel,
the Conservative Movement's
scholar in residence for October.
Rabbi Hammer will present
"Women Write About
Jerusalem," discussing the writ-
ings of Golda Meir, Henrietta
Zold and other women poets and
novelists.
On this afternoon, Michigan
Branch will honor Women of
Achievement from each of its
sisterhoods. The 1995 honorees
will be Debbie Chimovitz - Beth
Israel, Ann Arbor; Marilyn
Dresser - Temple Israel, Bay
City; Jane Anchill - Adat
Shalom, Farmington Hills;
Wendy Flamenbaum - Beth Is-
rael, Flint; the late Cheri

Brandeis University National
Women's Committee, Greater
Detroit Chapter will hold its fall
brunch Wednesday, Oct. 18, 11
a.m. at the Baldwin Library,
Birmingham. Featured speaker
of the day will be Sherwin Wine,
rabbi of the Birmingham Tem-
ple. Rabbi Wine's topic will be
"Fifty Years Later, World War
II."
There is a charge of $18 ($3
of which is tax deductible as a
donation to the Brandeis Uni-
versity Work Study Program)
for the day. Those unable to at-
tend the brunch are invited to
hear Rabbi Wine at 12:30 p.m.

The Greater Detroit Chapter of
Hadassah will present the
Fourth Annual Rummage Sale
of gently used clothing, linens,
jewelry, toys and household

folded and on hangers (if possi-
ble) items will be accepted on
Wednesday and Thursday, Nov.
8, 9 from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.;
Friday, Nov. 10, from 8:30 a.m.
- 2:30 p.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 12,
