Holiday Plans
Congregation B'nai Moshe will
hold Simchat Torah services
Monday, Oct. 16, at 6:45 p.m.
and Tuesday, Oct. 17, at 8:45
a.m., 6:45 p.m. Refreshments will
be served.
Reuven Hammer
At Beth Achim
Congregation Beth Achim will
host a scholar in residence pro-
gram with Rabbi Reuven Ham-
mer of the Conservative
Movement Oct. 13-16.
On Friday, Oct. 13, there will
be a traditional Shabbat dinner
followed by a study session with
Rabbi Hammer. Following the
dinner Rabbi Hammer's topic of
discussion will be "The Libera-
tion of Jerusalem, The Temple
Mount is in Our Hands."
During Shabbat services on
Oct. 14, Rabbi Hammer will de-
liver a sermon titled "Is the Sid-
dur Still Relevant?" Following
services, the rabbi will join the
congregation for a discussion
during the sit-down kiddush.
Rabbi Hammer will address
the Beth Achim Religious School
students Sunday, Oct. 15. His
topic will be "Jerusalem in the
Bible: What Makes it so Impor-
tant." The only charge for this
weekend series is for the Friday
night Shabbat dinner. All other
programs are free. For informa-

Temple Israel
Hosts Service
Temple Israel will offer an adult
Simchat Torah service on Mon-
day evening, Oct. 16, at 8 p.m.
Temple members who have
completed the Adult Affirmation
program will be honored during
the service. This year's affir-
mands are Linda Feldman, Har-
riet Freedman, Eileen Kozloff,
Barbara Millman, Stanley and
Doreen Millman, Leo and Elinor
Saltaz, and Ed and Caroline
Schechter. The community is in-
vited to attend.
Adat Shalom
Plans Hakafot
Adat Shalom Synagogue will
mark Simchat Torah with ser-
vices and a traditional hakafot
on Mon., Oct. 16, at 6:45 p.m. All
children will r receive apples and
flags. C'aildren under 10 must
be accompanied by an adult
