Morgenthau Chapter B'nai
B'rith Women will hold its next
luncheon meeting on Wednes-
day, Oct. 11, at noon at Temple
Emanu-El.
The guest speaker will be Rab-
bi Daniel Nevins of Adat Shalom
Synagogue. He will speak on his
views of "Overcoming Prejudice
and Intolerance."
The luncheon will be hosted
by the Book Study groups.The
meeting is open to the members,
and guests are welcome. Reser-
vations are mandatory by Sun-

Member Dinner

of the Jewish Federation's Michi-

Temple Israel will host an Acad-
emy for Adult Education and life-
long Learning. Classes are
scheduled for Monday evenings,
Oct. 23 through Dec. 11 at the
temple. In addition, there are
Torah study sessions offered on
Wednesdays at 12:15 to 1:30 p.m.
and on Sunday mornings from
10:45 to noon.

Fall Conclave

B'nai B'rith Youth Organization
will plan the first Michigan Re-
gion leadership weekend of the
'95-'96 program year. Fall Con-
clave will be held Oct. 27-29 at
Camp Maas.

Adat Shalom
Home Shower

Adat Shalom Synagogue will
team up with Resettlement Ser-
vice/Jewish Family Service to co-
host a "Home Improvement"
Shower and Light Brunch at 11
a.m., Sunday, Oct. 15.
The event will benefit new
Americans in the community.
Participants are asked to bring
a gift of a new-unused household
item for a recently arrived fam-
ily. Among those items especial-
ly needed are bed and bath
linens, tea kettles, 10-quart soup
pots, flatware,dishes (service for
four or more) with soup bowls,
and loaf bread pans.
It is not necessary to wrap the
present. Help the environment
by bringing the gift in its origi-
nal box. If one cannot attend, a
gift or a check (made payable to
Resettlement Service) would be
appreciated.
