Julius, and his wife Anna, who is 91, have been married 69 years live in Southfield. He first started participating at the Claremont Avenue JCC in Detroit when he was in high school and has be- longed ever since. Anna, who is also a Health Club member, mainly uses the new JPM state- of-the-art swimming pool with a ramp. Julius has several dozen gold medals for senior U.S. seedwalk- ing championships and he trains year round at the Wolverine Pac- ers in Dearborn. Under the direction of Arlene Agree, aerobics instruc- tor and presenter for over thirteen years, the JCC aerobics program is designed for all levels and abilities. New this fall are "Lite" Low Im- pact Aerobics and "Lite" Weights classes as well as Basic Step for be- ginner enthusiasts and/or mature adults. Serious weight training and conditioning classes utilizing the resistance of Body Bars, bands and dumbells are available to strengthen, tone, and shape every- body. High intensity Low Impact, "Combo Hi-Lo" Aerobics and a variety of step classes (Step n' Lo Impact, Tuff Step n' Weights, etc.) are also offered for intermediate Sukkot Celebration Sponsored by JPI Champion in the 1500 and 5000 meter races. He attributes his suc- cess to conditioning and eating properly and a positive outlook on life. In 1977, he noticed that he was slowing down because of problems in his legs. He was ad- vised to do lots of walking and has kept it up ever since. He says that he avoids medicine except for one aspirin every other day. Last year he bought two pair of shoes for speed walking on a two-for-one sale. Why two?
