The Agency for Jewish Educa-
tion Library has new hours for
the fall/winter. The library is now
open Sundays 9:30 a.m. to 12:30
p.m.; Mondays 9:30 a.m. to 12:30
p.m.; Tuesdays 5 to 8 p.m.;
Thursdays 9:30 a.m. to 12:30
p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. The library
will be closed on Thursday, Fri-
day and Saturday. Volunteers
are needed in order to expand li-
brary hours.
In addition to its regular ser-
vices, the library will present Lit-
erary Journeys on Thursday
evenings from 7:30 to 9 p.m. This
popular program is a discussion
group for those who are inter-
ested in sharing ideas and
themes of short story literature
by Jewish authors. The program
will begin on Oct. 5 with a dis-
cussion on "Goodbye and Good
Luck" by Grace Paley. Future
discussions will include: Oct. 26,
"First Kiss" by S.Y. Agnon; Nov.
9, "I Stand Here Ironing" by Hil-
lel Olsen; Nov. 30, "Bridging" by
Max Apple; Dec. 7, "The Name"
by Aharon Megged; Dec. 14; "A
Subject of Childhood" by Grace
Paley. The program will be free
of charge and refreshments will
be provided.

Couples Club
Event Set
On Saturday evening, Oct. 7, the
Temple Israel couples Club will
hold their opening event for the
1995-1996 year. The theme for
this program is a Monte Carlo
Affair, featuring an evening of
dining, entertainment and
prizes. The event will take place
at Morels on Telegraph Road in
Bingham Farms.
