Cameron Smith, Strauss AZA, and Jill Kraizman, Glazer BBG, will chair the Senior Getaway Weekend to be held at the BBYO Milan Conference Center, Jan. 26-28. Andrew Ceifetz, Kishon AZA, Ben Salba, Jolson AZA, Leslie Zack, Ahava BBG, and Amy Zimmerman of Rauch BBG are the chairs of the two Young Leadership Conclaves, which will be held at the Milan Conference Center on Feb. 2-4 and on Feb. 23-25. Monday, Oct. 2 is the deadline for chapters to register members, who will have free admission to the BBYO Kickoff Dance on Sat- urday, Oct. 7, 8:30-11:30 p.m. at the West Bloomfield Jewish Community Center. There is an admission charge for non-regis- tered members and guests. Oct. 2 is also the deadline for each chapter to submit to the BBYO office the name of the chapter chairman for Regional Conven- tion. AZA and BBG councils will hold their monthly meetings on Thursday, Oct. 5. AZA will meet at the Agency for Jewish Edu- cation building and BBG meets at the West Bloomfield JCC. "Stretch and Reach" will of- fer children supervised recre- ation and socialization groups. Programming is designed to al- low children with ADHD to stretch and reach for new goals, to make new friends, to achieve their full potential. All pro- gramming will be led by trained JCC recreation and JFS social work staff. Groups will meet once a week at each JCC location. JFS will provide transportation for the children from school to the JCC. A series of concurrent parenting workshops will pro- vide support for participating parents. Parenting Center Offering Classes Congregation Shaarey Zedek is hosting Kitchen Table, a morning class for moms and their babies. The series covers the different developmental stages of babies, infant CPR, health issues, making decisions as a parent, Jewish celebra- tions, and songs. Sue Seidman leads the class on Thursdays, Oct. 26-Dec. 7, at 9:30 a.m. at Shaarey Zedek- Southfield. Babysitting is available by reservation. At the SZ-B'nai Israel Par- enting Center, new classes are being offered: Sense of Shabbat is a program for moms and children.Different Songs, blessings and stories for Shabbat will be taught. Partici- pants will be able to explore Jew- ish books, items ofJudaica and toys. People can just drop in and join on Oct. 6 from 10-11 a.m. There is no fee. The next Challah Days will be on Friday, Oct. 6, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Ruth Beresh and Karen Goss will teach how to make a challah for Shabbat. Participants will be able to take a challah home to bake. Super Sunday Incentive The Jewish Federation's Young Adult Division and The Jewish News have created an incentive for Jewish young adults to make a first-time or increased pledge on behalf of the Allied Jewish Campaign. All young adults will be en- couraged on Super Sunday, Oct. 1, to contribute a minimum of $18 to the YAD Campaign. In return for the first-time gifts or a 10 percent increase, non-sub- scribers to The Jewish News will receive a complimentary four- week trial subscription to the newspaper.
