Evers-Williams, who was elect-

Jerusalem (JTA) — Israeli police
last week briefly detained five
members of a grass-roots settlers
movement on suspicion of incite-
ment and distributing illegal doc-
uments.
Police issued the detention or-
ders Monday, after searching the
homes of the five men, all of
whom belonged to Zo Artzeinu,
or This is Our Land, a group that
organized recent countrywide
protests against Israel's ongoing
negotiations with the Palestini-
ans. The five, who included Zo
Artzeinu leaders Moshe Feiglin
and Shmuel Sacket, were re-
leased on bail.

Fathers Plan
Tolerance Center

Jerusalem (JTA) — The father of
an Israeli killed by Hamas ter-
rorists and the father of one of
those terrorists managed to
bridge their differences and agree
to establish jointly an education-
al center that would teach toler-
ance to Israelis and Palestinians.
Yehuda Waxman — the father
of Cpl. Nachshon Waxman, who
was killed in October by his three
Hamas captors during a failed Is-
raeli commando rescue attempt
— reached agreement for the cen-
ter during a meeting initiated by
a local newspaper with Sheik
Yassin Bader.
But Waxman said he had
agreed to the meeting only after
Bader agreed to a precondition.
"Before I met Sheik Bader, I
asked him to give me a letter that
will say that he condemns the
kidnapping of my son, and that
he is against any terror," Wax-
man told Israel Radio.
