Volunteers
Volunteers from local congrega-
tions will join others in the com-
munity to participate in the
Super Sunday phonathon from
9:30 a.m.-9 p.m., Oct. 1, at the
Max M. Fisher Building.
The kickoff event for the Jew-
ish Federation's Allied Jewish
Campaign has volunteer shifts
available from 9:30 a.m.-12:15
p.m., 11:45 a.m.-2:30 p.m., 2-945
p.m. for agency leadership and
6-9 p.m. for young adults.
Congregations participating

Young Adult volunteers will form
the JARC Sukkah Brigade to
build sukkot at four homes op-
erated by the organization on
Sunday, Oct. 8.
The brigade will form four
teams to build sukkot at JARC's
Greenberg/Shiffinan./Stein Home
in Franklin, Grosberg Home in
Beverly Hills, Laker Home in
West Bloomfield and Blumberg
Home in Pleasant Ridge. The
first annual Young Adult
Sukkah Brigade co-chairmen,
Dona Lakritz and Jeff Schwartz,
ask any interested young adults
to contact Caryn Bittker at
JARC, 352-5272.
Plans are also under way for
the third annual JARC Young
Adult Pre-Glow which will pre-
cede JARC's community-wide
fund-raising event on Nov. 29,
the premier performance of
Joseph and the Amazing Tech-
nicolor Drearncoat at the Ma-
sonic Theatre.
East Side
Services Set
The Grosse Pointe Jewish Coun-
cil will sponsor Reform High Hol-
iday services for the Jewish
community on Detroit's east side.
Rosh Hashanah services will
begin at 8 p.m. on Sunday
evening, Sept. 24, and resume at
9:30 a.m. Wednesday morning,
with a Children's Service from
1:30 to 2 p.m. Yom Kippur will
conclude with a memorial
