Nowadays, Ms. Moggel, of
West Bloomfield, notices a lot
more female finance managers
when she attends regional deal-
ership meetings. In fact, she su-
pervises two of them at Mel Farr.
Alison Krass, 25, of Farming-
ton Hills, joined the advertising
staff fresh out of college three
years ago. She handles all print
ads for Mel Farr dealerships in
Michigan and Ohio.
"When I leave my office and I
see anyone from salespeople to
technicians, I'm very well aware
it's a male-dominated business,
but it doesn't affect me," she said.
Being Jewish makes her feel
more of a minority than being a
woman in the world of car deal-
ing, Ms. Krass said.
But it's not something that
dogs her. And neither is it a prob-
lem for Ms. Adler or Ms. Davis.
It can actually be an asset, as
Ms. Adler will attest.
Recently, she and her sister
were at Shopping Center Market
in West Bloomfield. A customer
who recognized her from the deal-
ership came over, told her she was
very happy with her new car and
asked a technical question about
it.
That wasn't the first time, ei-
ther.
`My sister commented that it
was like being with a doctor," Ms.
Adler laughed. ❑

to co-workers. Three years after
Mr. Farr opened the dealership

manager, Ms. Moggel approached
him and told him she could do the
