Adat Shalom
Selichot Program
Rabbi Rod Glogower will speak at
an Adat Shalom Synagogue Seli-
chot Program on "Thshuvah & the
Irreversibility of Events." Rabbi
Glowgower's talk will follow a 9:30
p.m. coffee reception on Sat.
evening, Sept. 16. The evening is
arranged by the Synagogue's
Adult Study Commission.
Traditional Selichot services
will begin at 11 p.m. The service
will be led by Cantor Larry
Vieder and accompanied by an
Adat Shalom choir directed by
Marty Liebman. Those partici-
pating in the choir that evening
will be: Bill Sider, Sidney Fled-
man, Jerry Kohen, Robert Pang-
born, Steven Rotenberg, Michael
Schwartz, Asher Tilchin, Mark
Vieder and Sandy Vieder.
Rabbi Glogower is rabbinic ad-
viser to the Hillel Foundation at
the University of Michigan, and
adjunct lecturer at U-M Law
School, and scholar in residence
at the Midrasha.

Selichot Event
Selichot services at Congregation
Shaarey Zedek will be held Sat-
urday evening, Sept. 16, at 11:30
p.m. in the main sanctuary. The
service will be led by Rabbi Irwin
Groner, Rabbi William Gershon
and Rabbi Leonardo Bitran. Seli-
chot will be chanted by Cantor
Chaim Najman and the syna-
gogue choir, directed by Mr. Eu-
gene Zweig.
The service will be preceded by
a special program in Adler Hall
at 9 p.m., featuring the showing
of a film The Last Klezmer and a
panel discussion by high school
students who have returned from
visiting Israel this summer, it will
be moderated by Michael Wolf, di-
rector of education and youth.

returned from spending the sum-

served during the course of the

Publicity Deadlines
The normal deadline for local news and
publicity items is noon Thursday, eight
days prior to issue date. The deadline for
birth announcements is 10 a.m. Monday,
four days prior to issue date; out-of-town
obituaries, 10 a.m. Tuesday, three days
prior to issue date.
