The Greater Detroit Interfaith
Round Table of the National
Conference (formerly National
Conference of Christians and
Jews) awarded $13,000 in college
scholarship money to 19 gradu-
ating metro Detroit area high
school seniors in the 9th annual
American Arabic and Jewish Es-
say Contest.
The topic of this year's contest
was "Building Bridges Between
Americans of Arabic and Jewish
Descent."
The winners are: Mary A. Ri-
hani, Ferndale; Dana Cohen,
West Bloomfield; Kimberly
Weiss, West Bloomfield; Anita
Azzu, Oak Park; Stefan Pitcoff,
Detroit; Julie Eadeh, Livonia; Al-
lison Green, West Bloomfield;
Seth Kessler, Farmington Hills;
Jason Stoffer, Berkley; Mark
Hakim, Livonia. Also, Eric A. Za-
cks, West Bloomfield; Jonna
Heather, Farmington Hills; Va-
lerie Bahri, Sterling Heights;
Niveen Fawzy, Westland;
Christina Salib, Livonia; Robert
Taila, Canton; Dana Winshall,
West Bloomfield; Dara Seitzman,
Orchard Lake; Marcus Sanborn,
Canton.
Ms. Rihani and Mr. Zacks
were the top prize winners of
$1500 scholarships for the Ara-
bic and Jewish students, respec-
tively.

of the Jewish Federation of
Washtenaw County will sponsor
an Arbor Brewing Company tour
and tasting on Saturday night,
Sept. 16, at 9 p.m. The Young
Leadership Division is for adults,

Plays Bingo

Ann Arbor Simcha Hadassah
will host a new membership and
opening event, Bingo Bonanza,
on Tuesday, Sept. 19, at 7:45
