Lake, Troy, will open its 1995-96
season.
Opening Ridgedale's 64th sea-
son will be Dracula: The Musi-
cal? A spoof of the traditional
horror story. Dates are Sept. 21-
Oct. 1.
Steel Magnolias will run Nov.
9 19. Postmortem is a thriller
which will be staged Jan. 11-21.
A Little Night Music, a Sondheim
musical, will run March 8-24.
Closing the season will be The
Nerd, a comedy playing May 9-
19.
All performances are followed
by a complimentary after-glow of
sandwiches and coffee. Season
tickets are available beginning at

The mysteries of Apple Island,
that small body of land that rests
in the center of Orchard Lake,
come unveiled this fall on guided
tours of the island offered by
West Bloomfield Parks and
Recreation. Travel by pontoon
boat across the lake and hike the
island's trails guided by natural-
ist Steve Metzer or historian Jim
Laarman.
The nature of Apple Island will
be the topic of the Saturday, Sept.
16, excursions and history the
topic of excursions that are sched-
uled for Saturday, Oct. 7. Excur-
sions depart from the boat
launch on Pontiac Trail west or
Orchard Lake Road at 8 a.m., 10
a.m. or noon. Each tour last just
under two hours.
These tours are sponsored by
West Bloomfield Parks and
Recreation. Pre-registration is re-
quired to attend. Call the parks
and recreation office, (810) 334-
5660, for a reservation. Cost to
attend is $10 per adult and S6 per
child.

Autumnfest

Autumnfest '95, West Bloomfield
Parks and Reecreation's annual
county fair, is set for noon to 5
p.m., Sunday, Sept. 17, at Marsh-
bank Park, on Hiller Road north
of Commerce Road in West
Bloomfield Township.
This annual event features ac-
tivities for the whole family, in-
cluding a petting farm, sheep
shearing, kids games, a puppet
show at 2:30 p.m., moonwalk,
typhoon balloons, arts and crafts
and the musical performance
of the Balduck Mountain Ram-
blers.
