working, security monitoring, upgraded
lights and an office-classroom intercom sys-
tem.
Mr. Schostak said construction on the out-
er walls and roof of the addition is expected
to be completed by late fall. Work on the in-
side of the new wing may be finished as ear-
ly as Passover.
During the construction, students will ex-
perience a minor inconvenience due to the
temporary relocation of the library to the
multipurpose room.

After days of delays, the
renovation is complete.

The multipurpose room serves another purpose.

Funding for the addition comes from the
11-month-old, $11 million Generations cam-
paign. Of that amount, $8 million is slated
for the renovation of the existing structure
and the construction of the 28,000-square-
foot, two-story addition; the remaining $3
million is for an endowment.
So far, $8.5 million has been raised, with
$1.7 million earmarked for the endowment
fund and $6.8 million for the construction.
Meanwhile, the school board is assembling
an advisory panel to study the formation of
a Conservative high school. The panel was
prompted by a promise of $5 million in fund-
ing by developer Jay Kogan.
No date has been set for the panel to con-
vene.
