his house has evolved
with the stages of my
life," says interior de-
signer Linda Powers of
her handsome Bloom-
field Hills home. "A
house can't just look pretty, it has to func-
tion well, too."
To accommodate her changing needs,
the owner of Linda Powers Interiors in
Bloomfield Hills built two major additions
to her 1975 contemporary home, increas-
ing its size from 3,800 to 7,000 square feet.
Two children and a burgeoning business
were the impetus for the first addition ten
years ago, which added a wing with a guest
room, bathroom and spacious office studio.
The recent addition, a luxurious master
bedroom suite and new front entrance, was
built for convenience and comfort. "We
wanted more closet space and a sitting area
in the bedroom," Powers says.
