Susan Cantor

SUSAN CANTOR received the
Humanitarian of the Year award
from Share Our Strength, a non-
profit organization that provides
the largest source of funding for
the end of hunger in America.
Ms. Cantor, a volunteer chair-
person, organizes the annual
fund-raiser in Seattle, Wash.,
called Taste of the Nation.

DAVID L. BITTKER of Or-
chard Lake, long time B'nai B'rith
leader and former national chair-
man of B'nai B'rith Hillel, has
been appointed to the B'nai B'rith
Board of Governors, the group's
top decision-making body.

BETSY MOSS has been named
dean of students at Detroit Coun-
try Day Upper School.

STEVEN KATZ of West Bloom-
field was recently awarded a
bronze medal as the West Hills
Middle School's 7th grade win-
ner of the Continental Math
League competition.

BINYOMIN BERLIN, TZVI
FELDMAN, NECHEIVHA KA-
MINS, and SBELOMO POL-
LACK, third graders at Yeshivat
Akiva, recently earned their
Aleph emblems from the Na-
tional Jewish Committee on
Scouting and their Wolf badges
from the Boy Scouts of America.
They are members of Den 1 Cub
Scout Pack 1579 of Congregation
Beth Achim.

noon Thursday, eight days pri-
or to issue date. The deadline
for birth announcements is 10
a.m. Monday, four days prior
to issue date; out-of-town obit-
uaries, 10 a.m. Tuesday, three
days prior to issue date.
