man and his mother after Mr.
Youngman performed at a De-
troit nightclub. "We told jokes un-
til 4 a.m. — and his mother was
the funniest," he recalls.
"For example, a patient tells
the doctor: 'I'm worried...I keep
thinking I'm a horse.' The doctor
says: 'I can cure you, but it will
cost a lot of money.' The patient
says: 'Money is no object. I just
won the Kentucky Derby."
Mr. Sosin's "biggest fan," his
wife Ruth, died last year. They
had been married 61 years. He
has a son, Harvey, in New Jer-
sey, and a daughter, Sally, wife
of Dr. Philip Neuman, in South-
field.
"My wife heard my stories over
and over again, but she always
laughed at them," he says. "She
died last November and I was
booked to do a show in January.
The people called me and asked
me if I still wanted to perform.
"I went through with it, be-
cause entertaining was the best
way I could try to overcome my
grief. And, after all, the show
must go on." 0
