Dr. Steinhardt earned his bachelor of arts degree in 1928 and graduated from Wayne State University's Medical School in 1932. From 1942 to 1946, he served as medical cap- tain with the U.S. Army's First Division, landed on D-Day at Omaha Beach and was award- ed a Bronze Star for "duty un- der fire." Dr. Steinhardt practiced allergy and internal medicine and served on the teaching staffs of Grace and Sinai hospitals and at the Wayne State University's Med- ical School. He has served as president of the Michigan Al- lergy Society and served as pres- ident of the Maimonides Medical Society and of the De- troit Zionist Federation. He was the first president of Moadon, the Hebrew Cultural Club, and was awarded the Midrasha's Bernard Isaacs citation. Dr. Steinhardt contributed articles and book reviews to The Jewish News from 1977 to 1982 and published a number of sci- entific papers on medicine, al- lergy and psychiatry.
