The Michigan Jewish AIDS
Coalition, an organization that
provides within a Jewish context,
educational programs, referrals
and support to those who are
concerned with or touched by
HIV/AIDS, will be offering
HIV/AIDS training for those in-
terested in becoming curriculum
facilitator's or part of MJAC'S
Speaker's Bureau.
The training is being con-
ducted by the Midwest AIDS
Prevention Project and will be
free of charge to those wishing
to join the MJAC team of vol-
unteers. The training will take
place in three parts. We en-
courage participants to attend
all sessions. If for some reason
a session is missed, there will be
a makeup class offered at a lat-
er date.
The scheduled training will
take place at the Agency for Jew-
ish Education located at 21550
W. 12 Mile Rd., in Southfield on:
Monday, Sept. 11, 6:30-9:30 p.m.;
Wednesday, Sept. 13, 6:30-9:30
p.m.; Sunday, Sept. 17, 9:30 a.m.-
12:30 p.m.
There will be a light diner on
Monday and Wednesday. Bagels,
juice and coffee will be supplied
on Sunday.
MJAC is dedicated to provid-
ing family based HIV/AIDS ed-
"ucation and prevention to the
Jewish community.

Zvi Strom has been re elected to
his second year term as president
of the American Zionist Move-
ment—Michigan Region. Joe
Medwed, a past president, will
serve as executive committee
chair, and Sara Schiff will serve
as treasurer and recording sec-
retary.
Other committee chairpersons
elected are: Harmon Bayer,
scholar-in residence; Joe Med-
wed, Jerusalem Day; Ann Bar-
nett, college outreach; Liz
Hurwitz, forum; Hymie Cutler,
vice chair, forum; Norman
Naimark, Zionist of the Year; He-
len Naimark, fund-raising; Leon
Warshay, membership; and
Shoshana Wolok, editor of the
Zionist Viewpoint.
The American Zionist Move-
ment—Michigan Region is an
umbrella organization comprised
of more than 25 Zionist organi-
zations in Michigan and operates
under the auspices of the World
Zionist Organizations.
