anny Lecours, 6,
loved going to
Sunday school be-
cause of Helayne
Shaw, his teacher at
Temple Kol Ami.
"She's my favorite be-
cause she taught me
things I never knew be-
fore," said Danny, who
will begin first grade this
fall in Farmin ,on Hills.

"I learned about
tzedakah and the holi-
days and she taught me
songs in Hebrew and re-
ligious words I liked and
wanted to know. She
also taught me about
Moses and that stuff."
When he wanted to
learn certain English
words in Hebrew, Ms.
Shaw taught him the

translation, and Danny
said he really appreciat-
ed that.
"I'm pleased about
what he learned," said
his mother, Debbie
Lecours. "Our seder took
on special meaning be-
cause our celebration at
home went along with
what he had learned in
school."
