New '95 850 Sedan - Final Clearance Prices establish a friendship with the crowd by being honest and talk- ing directly to it. Every comedian faces the heckler — an audience member who either thinks he or she (al- though it's usually the he) can be funnier than the person on stage or is so into the show, the person wants to be a part of it. "The worst thing you can do with hecklers is get mad," Ms. Hauser said. "Usually, the audi- ence wants them to shut up. I try and get the crowd on my side and let hecklers know, in a nice way, other people don't want to hear from them." Ms. Hauser also uses her tal- ents to help charitable causes. As a member of the "Motor City Women of Comedy," she and sev- en other local women go on stage to raise money for charity. The group's first fund-raiser was a benefit for Gilda's Club of Metro Detroit. The organization, named after the late Gilda Rad- ner, is a free nonprofit social and emotional support service for can- cer patients and their friends and families. Motor City Women of Comedy will take to the stage on Sunday, Aug. 27, for a second Gilda's Club fund-raiser. Occasionally, Ms. Hauser will talk about Judaism on stage. "It's me," she said. "It's part of who I am. I occasionally go to places where people stereotype Jews. I want to go into these places and say, 'This is who I am,' and it doesn't match their stereotype. I'm not out crusading for Ju- daism. I just want to make peo- ple more aware." ❑ Tickets for the Aug. 27 Gilda's Club fund-raiser at Mark Ridley's Comedy Castle can be obtained by calling (810) 542-99Q0. • Anti-lock brakes • Front wheel drive • Side impact protection • Side imapct air bags • 4 year or 50,000 mile factory warranty • Cold weather package • Volvo On Call roadside assistance • Snap Shots New '95 960 Sedan - Final Clearance Prices Kicking off the summer weather with a Hillel of Metro Detroit/Young Adult Division picnic. • Limited slip differential • In line 6 cyl. power • Power driver and passenger seats • 16" Alloy wheels • 4 year or 50,000 mile factory warranty • Cold weather package • Volvo On Call roadside assistance • *Destination charge, tax, title are additional.
