Exploring the Prophets

The Laws of Shabbos

Congregation T'chiyah, an af-
filiate of the Federation of Re-
constructionist Congregations
and Havurot, is a lay-led congre-
gation. The adult-education
program has three main corn-
ponents. Two of these compo-
nents revolve around the weekly
Shabbat worship.
Each of the worship services
contains a study component —
usually a discussion of the week-
ly Torah portion or some aspect
of the worship service itself.
Approximately once a month,
services are followed by a
talk, lecture, poetry reading
or other presentation on an
issue of interest to congregants.
The final component of
educational programming
for adults is the monthly book
club.
