Temple Hosts
Family Picnic

Temple Israel will hold its an-
nual Family Picnic on Labor
Day, Monday, Sept. 4, from 11:30
a.m. to 3 p.m. This annual event
is open to the community at no
charge. There will be free food,
games, storyteller, clown and
petting zoo for the children. Oth-
er fun activities are planned for
children and adults alike
A dedication ceremony for the
newly completed Eleanor and
David Riseman School Wing and
Hodari Family Children's Li-
brary and Media Center will
take place at 11:30 a.m.
Also in conjunction with the
picnic that day, the temple is
sponsoring a blood drive and a
bone marrow registration drive
from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
To register for one or both of
the drives and for information
about the picnic, call the temple
office, 661-5700.

Jewish History
Lecture Series

Aish HaTorah will present Rab-
bi Shmuel Irons, dean of Kollel
Institute of Metro Detroit, who
will give a series of lectures on
Jewish history. Rabbi Irons is the
author of a popular tape series
on Jewish history. He is a sought ,
after lecturer and renowned Jew-
ish scholar.

27) nights at the West Bloomfield
Public Library,
