Registration
At Beth Shalom

Registration is being taken for
Congregation Beth Shalom Re-
ligous School. Directed by
Shoshana Ben-Ozer, the Con-
servative Hebrew school em-
phasizes class continuity and
individual student needs.
Meeting twice weekly, stu-
dents will learn Hebrew reading
and writing and basic synagogue
skills, prayers and their mean-
ings, Torah, Bilbe studies, Jew-
ish history, Israel and the Jewish
people. Bar/bat mitzvah training
and youth programs also are
available.
High School, grades 8-11, will
meet on Sundays beginning with
a continental breakfast. A
monthly seminar, offering a
higher level of study based on
various aspects of Jewish living,
will be held for students in grade
12; dinner will be provided.
Junior Congregation will par-
ticipate as a class on a regular
basis to strengthen their learn-
ing skills. Kindergarten -will be

Nira Lev directs the Hebrew Interactive Learning Center
and Hebrew Programs at the Agency for Jewish
Education. She holds graduate degrees from Hebrew
University and Tel Aviv University. She is the author of
curricula used throughout the community and is a past
recipient of the Berman Outstanding Professional Service
Award and the Schochet Outstanding Teacher Award.

Ronit Goutkovitch is a Hebrew instructor at Akiva
Hebrew Day School. A graduate of the Teacher's College
in Nahalal, Israel, she received special IDF training in
teaching reading,
social psychology, and
treatment of people
with learning
disabilities.

Ahuva Newman has
been teaching
Hebrew for 21 years.
She holds degrees
from Hebrew University and Wayne State University.
Ahuva teaches Hebrew at Temple Shir Shalom and
Temple Emanu-El as well as at Midrasha.

Tziona Ragowsky holds degrees from Bar
Ilan University and Tel Aviv University. She has 20 years
teaching experience in Israel. In addition to teaching
adult Hebrew at Midrasha, Tziona is an adult educator
and instructor at Temple Israel.
