Lindsey Feldman, a special girl from West
Bloomfield, asked for a bat mitzvah, and
carried through with courage.

To see her on the bimah, reading Hebrew,
leading the service — I felt almost as proud
as the Feldmans.
`The thing about Lindsey," Ms. Nosanchuk
said, "is that she has tremendous confidence
in herself. She is the type of person you can
count on. And watching her as a bat mitzvah
was very special."
"It was an exciting, emotional Friday
night," Lesley Feldman recalled. "Her class-
mates were there to see her, many of whom
are not Jewish, but they were equally as
proud. She had an aliyah (called up to the
Torah) the day before. And that was a mov-
ing scene as well."
"This is a special child for many reasons,"
Dr. Feldman said. "She loves being Jewish.
She loves Jewish symbols, holidays and her
Jewish education. And the entire experience
brought all of it together." ❑
