Odyssey Hosts
Summer Events

Odyssey, singles programming
for the Jewish Singles 30 Some-
thing Plus will continue its Siz-
zling Hot Program Series with
two evenings scheduled for Aug.
10 and Aug. 18.
George N'Namdi, owner of the
downtown N'Namdi Gallery,
1616 Townsend, will guide view-
ers through his art gallery be-.
ginning at 7:30 p.m. on
Thursday, Aug. 10. Wine and
cheese will be served and there
is a cover charge of $5 for
Odyssey-AJC members and
$7.50 for non-AJC members.
Shabbat for a Novice gradu-
ates and others interested in a
Shabbat dinner experience must
mail in reservations ($18) for the
Friday, Aug. 18, dinner and pro-
gram. Directions to host sites will
be distributed upon receipt of
reservation and kosher foods will
be served.This dinner will focus
on Shabbat and spirituality, the
musical nature of celebrating
with rituals, songs and story
telling.
Reservations must be mailed
to Odyssey, the American Jew-
ish Committee, 6735 Telegraph
Road, Suite 320, Bloomfield
Hills, MI 48301. For information,

Classic Cars
Are Viewed

Professional Jewish singles (30s-
40s) will admire classic automo-
biles at the Concours D'Elegance
at Meadowbrook Hall, Rochester
on Sunday, Aug. 6, followed by
dinner at the Oceana Inn. There
is a charge.
Carpools will meet at 1 p.m.
Reservations are required no lat-
er than Friday, Aug. 4. For reser-

Singles Hear
Jeff Zaslow •

The Jewish Singles Travel Con-
nection will kick-off their first cof-
feehouse series with advice
columnist Jeff Zaslow speaking
at 8 p.m. Aug. 7, at the Lone Star
Coffeehouse in Birmingham.
Mr. Zaslow's column "All That
Zazz" appears in USA Today
Magazine, the Chicago Sun-
Times and is syndicated through-
out the world.
The event is open for all Jew-
ish singles 35-50. The gathering
is free. Subsequent events will
take place on the first Monday of
every month.
The series is being co-spon-
sored by the Jewish Federation
of Metropolitan Detroit and The
Jewish News.
