Bloomfield has received letters
from President Bill Clinton,
Michigan Gov. John Engler, the
Points of Light Foundation and
other organizations commend-
ing her volunteer work at Sinai
Hospital. Ms. Nosanchuk creat-
ed the Language Interpretation
Program more than 20 years ago
to help non-English speaking pa-
tients during medical exams and
procedures. Over the years, she
has logged more than 10,000
hours of volunteer service.
Dr. Kenneth Kohn, a partner
in the Troy law firm of Reising,
Ethington, Barnard and Perry,
along with associates Ilene Mont-
gomery and David Kurlandsky,
has worked with Tel Aviv Uni-
versity and the National Insti-
tutes of Health to file patent
applications on the recently iden-
tified A-T gene.
When mutated, this gene
causes A-T, a progressive genet-
ic disorder affecting the central
nervous and immune systems.
It is anticipated that the gene
discovery will lead to therapeu-
tics and further scientific dis-
coveries.
Dr. Kohn represents compa-
nies and universities worldwide
in matters involving biotechnol-
ogy and medical and chemical
technology. He also represents
major Israeli universities, in-
cluding Technion, the Weizmann
Institute and Bar-Ilan.
