chant, builder and land develop-

son. Mr. Apple was the loving fa-
ther of the late Lawrence Apple.

of Huntington Woods, died July
14. She was the beloved wife of
the late Albert Applebaum. She
is survived by her daughter and
son-in-law, Pamela and Scott
Allen of Rye, N.Y.; brother and
sister-in-law, Walter and Arlene
Wenger of Rochester. Services
were held at Machpelah Ceme-
tery Cahpel in Ferndale fol-
lowed by interment at the ceme-

DR. MORRIS M. BECKER,
84, of Aventura, Fla., formerly of
Detroit, died July 11. Dr. Becker
was a pharmacist for many
years and at the age of 35 went
to the University of Detroit Den-
tal School; he graduated in 1946.
He was a member of the Alpha
Omega Dental Fraternity.
He was the loving grandfa-
ther of the late Paul Sonkin. Dr.

Becker is survived by his wife of
56 years, Regina; son and
daughter-in-law, Larry and Su-
san of Keego Harbor; daughter
and son-in-law, Sydelle and Dr.
Sheldon Sonkin of West Bloom-
field; grandchildren, Justin and
Stephanie Becker, Rebecca and
Joel Sonkin; sisters and broth-
ers-in-law, Sara and Ben Gur-
witz of West Bloomfield, Rose
and Ray Loeb of Detroit. Inter-

DR. JOHN R.
BIRMINGHAM, 78, of West
Bloomfield, died July 18. Dr.
Birmingham was a pediatrician
in practice for over 50 years. Dr.
Birmingham earned his under-
graduate degree from Annapolis
and graduated from Johns Hop-
kins Medical School. He was on
staff at Children's, Sinai and
Beaumont Hospitals. He was a
member of the American Pedi-
atric Society, Michigan State
Medical Society, Alpha Omega
Alpha Honorary Medical Soci-
ety, Detroit Institute of Arts and
the Detroit Symphony Orches-
tra.
Dr. Birmingham is survived
by his wife, Gilda; daughters
and son-in-law, Linda and Mar-
tin Cohen of Northbrook, Ill.,
Jody Jonas of Clarkson; son,
Roger Ludin of Bloomfield Hills;
grandchildren, Barry and Karen
and Jay Cohen, Jonathon Jonas,
Jamie and Jared Ludin; brother
and sister-in-law, Dr. Eugene

ROSE BRAUDE, 96, of West
Bloomfield, died July 12. Miss
Braude was an educator for the
Detroit Public Schools. She is

ABRAHAM B. DUKE, 75, of
Southfield, died July 16. Mr.
Duke was a restaurant manag-
er. He was the loving father of

Richard Beckwith of Farming-
ton Hills; grandchildren, Ashley,

FLOREITE FORTGANG, 64,
of Faimington Hills, died July
15. She is survived by her hus-
