Book Fair with new co-
chairs, Andi Wolfe and Sandy
Zeskind developing new
ideas.
This year's Book Fair will
be November 4-13. Both co-
chairs are very excited about
working together and with
the many volunteers, in mak-
ing this the most successful
event ever. Says Ms. Wolfe, "I
think the community will be
excited by the innovative
changes we will be making."
Ms. Wolfe, an active member in
the community for many years, is
a life-long member of Women's
American ORT, and is currently
their fundraising vice-president.
She has also been involved in the
Alzheimer's Association, Jewish
Theological Seminary, Israel
Bonds, the ADL and Bar-Ilan. She
serves on the Ladies Board of Tam
0-Shanter Country Club and was
Auction Manager for WTVS
Channel 56. Ms. Wolfe is a recent

he Fitness and Breakfast Se-
ries at the Maple/Drake JCC
had another exciting event
on June 11. At 9:00 a.m., a group
of runners, walkers, and bikers left
from the main entrance of the JCC
for mapped out courses of vari-
ous distances. At 10:15 a.m., David
Howell, the owner of Total Run-
ner, talked about the concerns of
running in the heat of the summer.
Everybody who attended this fas-
cinating presentation enjoyed a
continental breakfast and great
conversation with friends. The JCC
is excited about the next Fitness
and Breakfast Series event which

will be held on July 30. Chris Jef-
frey, 1983 American Bicycle Asso-
ciation State Champion and
included in the Top Ten Expert
Class in the Michigan Mountain
Bike Association, will discuss
proper shifting techniques, bike
safety, braking and endurance
training.

Celebrates Mrs. Frances
Driker's 90th Birthday

ticipant and supporter of
JPM's Yiddish Culture Club
recently celebrated her 90th birth-
day with a party at the JPM Build-
ing.
The Charles & Frances Driker
Fund for Yiddish Culture was es-
tablished in 1988 by their children
in memory of their father and to
honor their mother. Since then, the
fund has sustained the Yiddish
Culture Club and many other Yid-
dish and educational programs at
JPM.
The Club's current leader, Haim
Rozenthal, hosted the monthly
meeting in June in a tribute to
Mrs. Driker. Extensive speeches
and entertainment, all in Yiddish
of course, highlighted the festivi-
ties. Hi Shenkman and Abram Pal
added words of praise, Manya
Landman read original poetry
and Miriyam Lemberg, Cantor
David Guttman, Yitshak
Prikapek, Adele Kozadayev and
Galina Feldman entertained.

the expansion and renovation of
JPM, the Driker family made a
significant contribution to create
the Charles & Frances Driker Li-
brary. Currently, the library is a
focal point of the Center and
serves as a reading room with a
large collection of Yiddish, He-
brew, Russian and English books
as well as newspapers and peri-
odicals for people of all ages.
Mrs. Driker's grandchildren and
great-grandchildren also took part
in the 90th birthday celebration
by contributing funds to create a
children's library corner.
