Odyssey, sponsored by the Amer-
ican Jewish Committee, will host
four summer events for singles
30 plus.
Two Friday night dinners are
planned. Shabbat for a Novice
will take place on July 21, at 7
p.m. Shabbat and Spirituality is
scheduled for Aug. 18, at 7 p.m.

For art and history mavens, ad-
ditional programs are slated.
"Back in Time: A Journey to
Ethiopia" is the topic for a pro-
gram a the Maple-Drake JCC on
July 13, at 7:30 p.m. "An Explo-
ration of Ethnic Art" will be made
at the N'Namdi Gallery in Birm-
ingham on Aug. 10, at 7:30 p.m.
These events are open to
members and non-members.

Is Planned

Professional Jewish singles (30s
- 40s) will bet together to enjoy
the music of Alexander Zonjic in
Shain Park, Birmingham, on

Lecture Series
In Ann Arbor

"Let Your Voice Be Heard," a
morning lecture series on the
practical aspects of affecting gov-
ernment, will be presented at the
Jewish Community Center of
Washtenaw County on Mondays
through July 31, 10 to 11:30 a.m.
On Monday, July 17, the series
will present Ann Arbor Mayor
Ingrid Sheldon on ways to affect
local government. Former state
representative Lana Pollack will
appear on Monday, July 24, to
speak about her experiences be-
ing lobbied; and Cindy Hughey,
director of the Michigan Jewish
Conference, will speak Monday,
July 31, about lobbying for the
Jewish community.
Howard Simon, executive di-
rector of Michigan's American
Civil Liberties Union, will dis-
cuss ACLU efforts to change as-
sisted suicide legislation in a talk
on Thursday, July 20, at 1 p.m.
All presentations are free and
open to the public. A dairy lunch
for a nominal fee will be served at
11:30 a.m. on Mondays and at 1
p.m. on Thursdays. For informa-
