When Mr. Davidson was 13, his family moved to the Michigan collective communi- ty known as Sunrise Farms; their progressive philosophy remained with him through his life. Mr. Davidson interrupted his college career after two years to serve in the army in World War II. Then he accept- ed a job with a cabinet making firm. At the age of 40 he re- signed that job and returned to school. He earned a bache- lor of arts in education, a mas- ter of arts in psychology and a doctor of psychology. He ac- cepted a teaching position at Oakland Communiuty College Morris Davidson MORRIS J. BRANDWINE, 84, of Bingham Farms, died June 29. Mr. Brandwine was the former owner of Auto City Oil Company. He was a member of Congregation B'nai Moshe, past president of Congregation B'nai David, past president of the Jewish National Fund, the original founder of AIPAC in De- troit and a past board member of the United Hebrew Schools. Mr. Brandwine was honored by both Israel Bonds and the Jew- ish National Fund and had a forest named in his honor. He is survived by his wife, Tillie; daughter and son-in-law, Lois and Hadar Granader of Bloomfield Hills; sons and daughter-in-law, Dr. Warren and Beverly of Cherry Hill, N.J., Mark of Atlanta; grandchildren, Brian, Robert and Jill Granader, Eric, Joel, Cory and Alex Brand- wine. Mrs. Fox was the payroll comptroller for and began a private counseling practice. He later left the college to teach residents in the family practice section of medi- cine at Providence Hospital. During this time he became ac- tive with many social action groups. He founded the metro Detroit chapter of Psycholo- gists for Social Responsibility and remained an active mem- ber until a year before his death. Dr. Davidson is survived by his wife, May; children, Khaya Davidson and Tetshin Liddy, Tessa and Norman Britten- ham; grandchildren, Matthew, Amy, Kim Brittenham; great- granddaughter, Rhye Tempest Brittenham. the city of Detroit for 30 years before moving to Florida in 1976. In 1936, he graduated from Wayne State University Medical School and in 1938, he received his mas- ter's degree in pathology. Dr. Freidlaender was a founding member of Adat Shalom Synagogue, past presi- dent of the Zionist Organiza- tion of Detroit and past chair- man of the Balfour concerts. He was also the past president and founding member of the Ameri- can Association of Clinical Im- munology and Allergy and hon- ored with its distinguished service award in 1994. Dr. Frei- dlaender was a clinical faculty member of the Wayne State University Medical School for more than 50 years and chief of allergy at Grace Hospital for many years. He was also the past president of the Michigan Allergy Society; Fellow, Ameri- can College of Physicians; Fel- low, American College of Aller- gists; member, American Academy of Allergy and Ameri- can College of Dermatology. Dr. Friedlaender was a major in the Army during World War II and a member of Pefection Lodge No. 486 F & AM. For 53 years, he was the beloved hus- band of the late Eileen Fried- laender.
